Abstract

This paper proposes to inquire the problem of our spatial situation in existential terms. In order to do so, we will take into account the considerations on space outlined in Martin Heidegger’s Dasein-analysis, to highlight a character of concern according to which existence unfolds as a relationship of occupation to the world. Based in Oskar Becker’s descriptions, we will ask whether an inclusion of phenomenon of body can contribute to an understanding of our particular «being in a place». An answer will be sketched by characterizing the sensible qualities in terms of an exhortative «speak of themselves» and by conceiving our body as a possibility of listening to the exhortation of singulars things. Thus, by establishing a strong unity between spatial situation, exhortation of sensitive qualities and body as possibility of allowing itself to live in them, we will attempt to go beyond Heidegger’s indications in order to propose a concrete understanding of our existential possibility of taking places.
