More than monkeys and machines

The question of what we really are has been open for centuries, allowing us to speculate and even dreaming with the answer that better respond to the idea of ourselves. We believed that we are made according to the image of the gods, pinnacle of creation. And suddenly, in just a moment historically speaking, science has shown us that we are nothing more than primates, more evolved than chimps and gorillas with whom we share 99% of our genetic code. It seems that we have a choice of mutually exclusive options, or our nature is reduced to a mere sophisticated biological mechanism or science is unable to reveal the essence of who we are, at least, without question some of their assumptions more basic. We face the most complex and difficult question that we ask in the context of the knowledge in science.
