Abstract

The epistemological issue is probably the main point of Ortega’s philosophy. but it is easy to make a reductionist interpretation due to the variety of elements and perspectives involved in his philosophical approach. In order to avoid this, it might be useful to look onto nodal problems. Particularly, the meaning of philosophy emerges as an especially enlightening nodal problem. In that way, the reason is seen as an effort of criticism and self-transcending, as a key concept in his thought. This makes him to be considered as a thinker far away from devaluing stances about rationality.
