The new postmodern personality means openness, not irrevocable fragmentation. Late modernity can break the symbolic order of society, but is reconstituted as a way of opening a space for radical imagination. Here, the mental processes of fantasy are a central element of a human self construction. Both in terms of psychic interiority and in terms of the outside world, live in the network society means living aware of over determination fantasy print on personal and cultural worlds. Fantasy, as creative flow of the unconscious, is linked directly with knowledge and experience of the world, and can not be avoid nor overcome.
