The Personal Identity in Gabriel Marcel and his Sociological Proyection
Keywords:
personal identity, creation, own body, intersubjectivity.Abstract
In this article we confront the issue of the personal identity as cornerstone in Marcel metaphysics. We make a projection of this recurrent issue in Marcel philosophy adapting the concept to current circumstances affecting our consumption society, following authors like R. Safranski, Z. Bauman or G.Lipovestky. The metaphysics of Marcel focuses on the being that questions himself in a quest to findmeaning for him and the world surrounding him. The three pillars on which Marcel settled the creation ofthe identity in humans are the body, that represents the chronological and carnal dimension of life; theinter-subjectivity, in which the being finds the sense for his life; and transcendence, that provides hope beyond time and makes possible unconditional love.Downloads
