Abstract

This article deals with the change in public values, that has been taking place in our societies due to the leading role played by big corporations in today´s world. Corporations have been a driving force for global economy, have replaced government action in many areas and their growing role reveals itself in the trade wars we are immersed in. They are legal persons with full rights that operate at national and transnational level. Their core-values are not of a political nature (equality, freedom or solidarity) but of an economic kind (efficiency, hierarchy and the pursue of benefit). In these pages some ideas are put forward on the new role of modern corporations, their access to power and the values they uphold.
