Ignacio de Loyola. Psicología de un santo
Abstract
Con tal título y bien editada, ha aparecido la versión castellana de la obra del psicoanalista norteamericano W. W. Meissner, SJ. Ignacio de Loyola es uno de los personajes históricos que han padecido un vaivén constante entre hagiógrafos piadosos y biógrafos de todo tipo. Así, las vidas «oficiales» de P. de Rivadeneira (1572) y J. P. Maffei (1585) están en la línea ditirámbica. Posteriormente, la serie «Monumenta historica Societatis Iesu» (1894) inició una nueva historiografla ignaciana y de ello dio prueba A. Astrain, al dedicar al santo el primer volumen de su Historia de la Compañía de jesús en la Asistencia de España (1902). Más tarde otras monograflas iluminarían zonas desatendidas hasta entonces.
