Strengthen the civil society

Abstract

Following the observations that started on the last issue of our magazine («Desalojo y ocupación de la sociedad civil», May-June, 2012), we’ll be dedicating these pages to some proposals that could be used to reinforce civil society. We are aware of the relative vagueness of the term, and this is why we would like to start with a terminological explanation; actually, the ambiguity of «civil society» also responds to the plurality of ideological approaches which, thus, need to be also presented and analyzed, even if it’s in a brief way. Even so, we are convinced of the importance of the civil society when it comes to respond to the challenges that the present and the future entail. We would like to complete these observations, in a constructive spirit, by collecting some examples of good practices and a number of proposals that can be of use in order to reinforce civil society in the 21st century.
