unsustainability, ethics of care, education for sustainable developmentAbstract
The concepts of “sustainability” and “sustainable development” have been so overused that they are no longer useful. It is necessary to avoid their trivialization and redefine what we understand by education for sustainability or, better yet, education against unsustainability—a much clearer concept. Educating against unsustainability means forming a critical, compassionate and responsible citizenry, with a universal ethic of responsibility for the present and future of people and the planet.
