El inconveniente

Abstract

The story takes place during Christmas 2019 in Seville. Sara is a woman dedicated to her career and whose marriage is in crisis. She learns of an apartment for sale and thinks about her future. She visits it with a real estate agent and finds it very attractive for its surprisingly low price. The explanation lies in a "small inconvenience": Lola, the septuagenarian owner, will live there for the rest of her life. 

The clashes between the two women were entirely predictable. The elderly woman is a force of nature, free-spirited and eager to live life to the fullest; in contrast, the buyer is a woman of control and discipline, rigid and demanding. Surprisingly, however, it is the elderly woman who gradually gains the upper hand, and a very feminine relationship develops between them, full of tenderness and laughter. Sara worries about Lola and her well-being when the latter completely disrupts her life.
