Smoking is one of the health problems that causes the most deaths in developed countries. It has also been linked to respiratory disorders in children, among whom there has been an increase in the prevalence of this habit in recent years. The strategy for combating this habit is, as with all addictions, prevention. When it comes to tobacco, social factors have the greatest influence on when people start experimenting with it. For this reason, the programme implemented in Arteixo, called No thanks, I don't smoke!, seeks to address issues related to tobacco and its effects on the body, the environment and the immediate social consequences, the influence of the media, among others, through a series of weekly lessons.
