Continuous social changes, especially in relation to science and technology, as well as the crisis in the education system, contribute to the need to review the systems that society has designed for education. We cannot say today that school alone is sufficient for citizens to have the knowledge necessary to face the world today. The House of Sciences is the first publicly owned centre to open in Spain dedicated to the dissemination and popularisation of science. It is one of a group of institutions that generally aim to promote an interest in science through interactive and informal exhibitions and many other activities.
