Brazil is notable for its vast size, making it the fifth largest country in the world, with all of its territory being fully habitable. It has a rich variety of landscapes, climates, people and resources. Brazil is home to the largest and most voluminous river on Earth. It is not known for certain who was the first to arrive in Brazil, but it was most likely Vicente Yáñez Pinzón and later Pedro Alvares Cabral. A very important fact in history is that Brazil's independence was the first to be achieved without fighting or bloodshed. The great challenges facing this country are the care of the Amazon, together with the balance between growth and equality.
