Abstract

Based on demographic projections from the INE, the article analyses trends in Spain’s child population and its distribution across the autonomous communities. Data on total population, births, birth rates and mortality rates show that, following an initial increase, the population aged 0 to 14 is tending to decline and that the country’s natural population growth will continue to slow in the coming years.
