Bioética, personas transgénero y capacidades humanas

El objetivo de este artículo es abordar la realidad transgénero desde un diálogo entre bioética y el enfoque de las capacidades de Nussbaum. Primero ofrecemos cómo nos podemos aproximar a las personas trans desde la bioética. Luego rescatamos algunos fundamentos de la teoría normativa de Nussbaum, en orden a una fundamentación filosófica de la bioética y seleccionamos tres capacidades humanas centrales propuestas por la filósofa en su lista, para ver qué nos aporta sobre lo trans. La conclusión nos llevará a afirmar que el enfoque de las capacidades, que tiene como núcleo originario la dignidad humana y una antropología que combina la conación y la vulnerabilidad nos permite enriquecer la perspectiva bioética sobre las personas transgénero. Además, observaremos también que las capacidades seleccionadas nos ayudan a captar algunas cuestiones de justicia, dignidad y derechos, que asimismo pueden plantear problemas bioéticos.
