Algunas controversias sobre el "Liber Pontificalis"

El Liber Pontificalis ha sido objeto de controversias sobre su autoría y contenido, especialmente en las biografías de Pascual II y sus predecesores. Duchesne atribuyó estas biografías a Pandolfo, pero esta teoría ha sido cuestionada. Se argumenta que el estilo, el uso del Cursus y la ausencia de menciones a figuras clave como Ugón de Alatri en la biografía de Pascual II difieren de las biografías posteriores, lo que sugiere autores distintos. Además, se debate la interpretación de términos como "familia nostra", que algunos asocian con la milicia pontificia, pero que probablemente se refiere al séquito papal. También se discute la posición de Pandolfo en la curia, quien, según los manuscritos, era un joven hostiario y no un jefe militar. Las discrepancias en los textos y las interpretaciones de Duchesne, como su propuesta de cambiar "Const." por "Comes", son criticadas por carecer de fundamento textual. Se concluye que Pandolfo solo escribió las biografías de Gelasio II, Calixto II y Honorio II.
