Phenomenology of Christ for the renewal of the Theology of the Mysteries of the Life of Jesus

This article presents the Phenomenology of Christ by X. Tilliette as a contribution for the renewal of the Theology of the Mysteries of the Life of Christ. First, the article explains the questions that the Theology of the Mysteries leaves without a satisfactory answer: the relationship between Mystery and mysteries, the connection of Jesus’ past mysteries and alive Christ, the silence of theology of Mysteries about Christ’s conscience and, finally, the way for understanding Christ as the universal model. The Phenomenology of Christ by X. Tilliette replies these questions relying on the «panchristism» propounded by M. Blondel: the entire reality is received in Christ, and the unity of his different states supports the reality in its being. So that the episodes of Jesus’ life can be contemplated from a new perspective, and it’s also possible to set out in depth the knowledge of the life experiences of Christ.
