The jail, place of reconciliation? Considerations from restorative justice

Abstract

Although the jail has many contraindications, time in prison can be an opportunity (kairós) for repentance, reconciliation and social reintegration. It is necessary to promote a justice of reconciliation to restore relationships disrupted by the criminal act. This is the aim of restorative justice. The key elements of restorative justice are the responsibility of the offender, the reparation of the damage, the restoration of social relations.
