The charismatic leadership of Suenens and Lercaro at Vatican II
Keywords:
Council Vatican II, moderators, Lumen gentium, Gaudium et spes, Church in the worldAbstract
This study analyzes the performance of cardinals Suenens and Lercaro at Vatican II: on December 1962, ending the first Period, Suenens proposed an overall plan, focusing on the Church ad intra and ad extra, i.e., on the being and mission of the Church; meanwhile, Lercaro talked about the Church of the poor as the main theme of the Council. The contribution of these two leaders of the majority allows us to rebuild the spirit and the internal dynamics of Vatican II.
