Abstract

In intimate connection to Marta García Fernández’s article on «the sacramentality of the Word», also in this volume, the present article proposes to deepen this fructiferous relationship between Word and sacrament, but now from the perspective of the sacrament. First, commenting on basic texts by St Augustine and Karl Rahner, we present the rich intuition of the sacrament as word, as the word par excellence. Second, we examine the function of the word within the sacrament as forma sacramenti and condensed faith. Finally, we propose the sacramentality of liturgical silence as «sound box» for the Word.

Bert Daelemans, SJ, Universidad Pontificia Comillas

El profesor Bert M. R. A. Daelemans, S.J. es sacerdote jesuita flamenco, ingeniero-arquitecto (KU Leuven, Bélgica, 1998) y doctor en teología (PhD KU Leuven, Bélgica, 2013). Su investigación doctoral, por la cual recibió el Premio trienal Academische Stichting Leuven (Humane Wetenschappen) 2015, ofrece un modelo teológico sistemático-fundamental para la arquitectura eclesial contemporánea. En el año 2013-2014 comenzó su docencia en la Facultad de Teología de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Actualmente imparte cursos de Sacramentos en el Ciclo Institucional de Teología (Grado), Pneumatología en las especialidades de Teología Dogmática y Fundamental y de Espiritualidad (Máster), e Introducción al Hecho Religioso en el curso bilingüe de ADE. Sus intereses y escritos pastorales y académicos tratan del trasfondo teológico y espiritual del arte, en particular de la arquitectura. Sus últimos libros son Spiritus loci (Brill 2015), An Ignatian Journey of the Cross (Liturgical Press 2015) y Encuentros en el camino (PPC 2015).
