Abstract

Epilepsy belongs to a long list of psychic causes which can lead to canonical marriage annulment. Despite some experts believe that epilepsy can be curable thanks to new medicines and that it is no longer socially discriminated, epilepsy is not outdated (it is estimated that 40 million people suffer from it, and 80% of them lives in developing countries) and marriage annulment libellus that include this pathology among the factual situations are still sent to ecclesiastical courts. The purpose of this work is to offer in a summarised form some background of this disease provided by a canonical law professional as well as epilepsy’s incidence in those cases in which one of the spouses suffers from this illness.
