The Kenosis of Trinitarian God: Thoughts from Theology of Nature

Our image of God will always be imperfect and incomplete, but the theological reflection that is supported by new science paradigms could provide a new image that was closer to the God of the biblical tradition. The theology of nature, understood as the believer reading (from the faith) on the data of nature (from science) leads to an image of God in the line advocated by the kenotic theology of a love self-limiting God. The objective of this paper is to show how the greatest discoveries of science seem to point towards a kenosis of God in his omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence, each of which is starred by one of the three divine Persons. The being of trinitarian God is to be in relation, a relation constituted by an absolute kenosis of self-giving by love and that is also reflected in His relationship with the world.Downloads
