Abstract

The dimensions of the refugee problem, the implications in terms of suffering for its protagonists, the associated cultural and political repercussions make it a challenge for Ethics and an urgent concern for the Social Doctrine of the Church. There is no systematic theological approach in a concrete document, but there are more than enough elements to configure a concrete and analytical posture as a proposal to the problem. The article aims at the critical approach of the reader towards the refugee crisis and the understanding of the positioning of the Catholic community, from the theological point of view.

Author Biography

José Manuel Aparicio Malo, Universidad Pontificia Comillas

El profesor José Manuel Aparicio Malo estudió Arquitectura Técnica en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid; y teología en la Facultad de Teología del Norte de España, sede Burgos. Se licenció en moral en el Instituto Superior de Ciencias Morales en 2006 y defendió su tesis doctoral en 2011 en la Universidad Pontificia Comillas. En el año 2008 comenzó su docencia en la Facultad de Teología de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas, donde ha enseñado Teología Pastoral y Teología Moral. Actualmente imparte cursos de Moral Social, en el Ciclo Institucional de Teología; Derechos Humanos y Epistemología del Discurso Moral en la especialidad de Teología Moral (postgrado); Moral e Iglesia (DECA) y Ética Social y Cristianismo en diversos grados.
