Abstract

What is the relationship between faith and appearances? In other words: the disciples «saw» Jesus because they had faith or they had faith because they «saw» Jesus? The interest that guides this work is the question about the origin of the Easter faith, the way the disciples had access to the event of the Resurrection of Jesus, and that in a systematic form, which is a harmonic articulation of biblical exegesis, fundamental theology and dogmatic theology. We will do this guided by the work of two contemporary authors who have struggled to think systematically about the Resurrection of Jesus: Andrés Torres Queiruga and Hans Kessler. To their proposals, the «historical maieutics» in the case of Queiruga and «self-manifestation of the Risen» in the case of Kessler, we will ask about the difficult question around the origin of the Christian Easter faith.
