Abstract

The phenomenon of immigration has caused a remarkable change in Spain’s religious situation, especially concerning religious education, in public educational institutions of deferent belief from the Catholic one. Therefore, the freedom to teaching is studied as reflecting its acknowledgment in the Constitution and in its organic development. In this context the teaching of Islam has been the object of a specific regulation and the first Manual on Islam for educational institutions has been published.
