Study of the American idiosyncrasy from its political theology and ecclesiastical sciences
Keywords:
The United States of America, USA, US, idiosyncracy, Political Theology, civil religion, social gospelAbstract
This historic-comparative and critical study, with a theological-political and ecclesiastical approach, focuses on the American idiosyncratic configuration. The study analyzes how it has been achieved and what are the veils of confusion that hide it now. This singularization of a pluralistic people, with a vision and mission differentiated from other peoples, has much of its foundation in modern theology received and adapted or American political theology (concerned about the impact of religion on public life, without the intended monopoly by the State). In order to deal with all of the above, we go deeper into autochthonous constructs such as American Covenant Theology, more related issues such as American civil religion, American gospel, American manifest destiny, American self-righteousness, et al. Also, it offers a diagnosis and prognosis about the vulnerabilities of the American idiosyncratic matrix.
