«The Origin of Species»: Genesis 1 and the Scientific Vocation of Mankind
Keywords:
evolution, creation, Genesis, science, faithAbstract
For the supporters of evolutionism, a reference to the teaching of Genesis amounts to a regression in obscurantism, incompatible with modern rationality. The present inquiry answers that the inaugural chapters of Genesis are on the contrary a manifesto of the intelligibility of the world, born from divine speech and meant to human speech, notably in the scientific enterprise. A luminous rationality shines in these ancient texts, which can touch every rational person, and particularly the contemporary scientist.
