Abstract

This study is a reflection upon the places in which it may be possible to fulfill the call to all members of the Church by the Second Vatican Council to habitual encounter with the Word of God. This encounter will happen in study, in listening, and in the meditation of Scripture as attentive to the «signs of the times» proposed by the Council: the desire of unity among Christians, the experience of religious pluralism, the need for growing solidarity among people. This invitation made by the Council still stands today, as the Word of God will be all the more effective in an encounter with attentive listeners in the space of revelation.
