Abstract

The emancipatory interest proposed by the critical pedagogy movements is linked to the principles of Popular Education, developed in Latin America by the inspiration of the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire. Popular Education proposes a pedagogy that privileges the critical thinking and the dialogue of knowledge, using active and participating methodologies, with the intention of contributing to the transformation of situations about injustice and inequity from an ethical and political option.
