Abstract

When a child or teenager gets sick in the community of Madrid they can continue to enjoy their education right through the Hospital Classrooms, the Service Educational Support Domiciliary (SAED) or Educational-Therapeutic Centers (CET-HD) with the objective of not allowing the disease to disrupt normal development process.

The lessons taught at the hospital school allow the child or adolescent to continue with their regular studies because teachers teach according to the official curriculum taught in their reference centers. The educational intervention is performed according to the time of hospitalization and the personal situation of each student, taking place both in the classroom and in their rooms.

These three-way educational services are dependent on the General Directorate of Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Education of the Ministry of the Community of Madrid.
