Abstract

Ethical pluralism defines our present life that consists of both the global relationship and the defense and revitalization of the more particular or distinctive. Consequently, such a condition raises up an issue of how Christians and the Christian faith could make themselves relevant in this complex and pluralistic world. To answer such a delicate and valuable question, first of all, it is important to acknowledge that the lack of a shared reference and the inablity to embrace diversity in «com-union» remain two of the most challenging problems that affect the human community. Therefore, it is necessary to look for that «com-union», understood as human foundation and fulfillment. Such a «com-union» though we cannot automatically own, could be considered as a moral instance that brings all human beings together. Precisely, the points that were raised in the last lines demonstrate what the Christian faith can offer the world today. Such an offer is mainly characterized by a move towards better knowledge and moral life. It exemplifies the «com-union» of Christians and non-Christians working together to resolve the current moral problems (GS 16).
