El Simposio ampliado de los obispos europeos, celebrado en Praga del 7 al 12 de septiembre de 1993, constituyó un encuentro de gran riqueza para los cristianos y favoreció la unión entre los pueblos de Europa. La posibilidad de abordar abiertamente los problemas y recelos mutuos contribuyó a fortalecer el diálogo y la comprensión entre los participantes.
