From the Arab Spring to a Russian Spring?
Abstract
The spring winds that blew last year seem to have frozen and what seemed like a rebirth of democracy and human rights has been transformed into a struggle for power. The Russian Federation is no exception. The divorce of the Putin-Medvedev tandem illustrates this. What does this confrontation hide? Where is Russian society headed? Will the Russians and their governments be able to redirect the traditional dynamics of their foreign policy and build a balanced international policy between East and West?
